Job Description

Porting to Routers with ODM

  • Debugging and applying patches to Open Source software. Determine why, on a new platform, software is not working and apply patches where needs be
  • Fix any build issues when moving to a new platform
  • Integrating with ODM software

New Hardware (optional)

The following tasks will be part of this role, but previous direct experience of doing these tasks is not required. Experience of undertaking similar tasks is desirable

  • Being able to port to new target using third party SDK or OpenWRT
  • Go from reference board to production, managing the entire process
  • Wireless tuning (previous experience not essential)
  • Working with Factory and SoC team

Skills Required

Essential

  • Highly experienced with build systems, preferably buildroot/OpenWRT/dd-WRT/WRT-Variants
  • Experienced with C
  • Very confident working with patches (experience of contributing of patching open source software would be ideal)
  • Strong understanding of network protocols

Desirable

  • Wireless and Linux network stack
  • Experienced using kernel build system
  • Experienced developing Linux kernel (modules)

As the Linux Systems Developer, you will be one of the core developers working towards the goal of unifying DumaOS and its build system across multiple platforms. This would consist of working on the entire embedded system on a variety of hardware including bleeding edge platforms, with time to perform R&D on the intersection of systems and networking.
