Netduma Named One of the UK’s Top 100 Hottest Startups

June 16, 2017

Bedfordshire, UK

Netduma is proud to announce its recognition as one of the UK’s "top 100 hottest startups" by startups.co.uk.

Since its launch in December 2014, Netduma has revolutionised online gaming with its innovative router software, designed to eliminate congestion, lag, and connection issues for tens of thousands of customers across more than 95 countries, including the US and remote islands such as Guam and Reunion.

The journey began with a £6,500 loan, which Fraser and Barlow quickly paid back tenfold within six weeks. The founders were motivated by a common problem they experienced while studying at university—being unable to play online games due to bandwidth hogging by housemates downloading HD films. This inspired Fraser to embark on a PhD and develop anti-flood, one of Netduma's pioneering features.

In 2014, after completing research and development, Barlow left his job to join Fraser, fulfilling a decade-long promise to start a business together. The launch of the Netduma R1 gaming router followed shortly thereafter.

Netduma's ascent was further propelled by influencer marketing, particularly when popular YouTuber Drift0r posted a glowing review of the router in June 2015. Since then, the company has enjoyed continuous growth, receiving numerous awards including the Nectar Small Business Innovation award in 2015 and two accolades at the 2016 Startups Awards for Lean Start-up of the Year and Export Business of the Year.

By focusing on software innovation rather than just hardware, Netduma has established itself as a leader in providing seamless online gaming experiences. With ambitious plans for the future, the company is poised to maintain its stronghold in the competitive market.
