We’ve found players are interested to know the server locations for the games they play. But, it’s also very important information to know to get the best connection in Call of Duty. Ping is a common term amongst Call of Duty players.
It’s a metric to measure the speed of your connection. Your ping is calculated from the time it takes your game data to travel from your PC or console, to the game server and then back again.
You’ll want to connect to your closest servers to get the lowest ping, or fastest connection. But due to matchmaking systems, the game doesn’t always do this. Even if Activision claim “ping is king” when it comes to matchmaking, the players like to say otherwise.
Your connection quality can change from game to game due to the matchmaking systems in Call of Duty. It’s easy to notice when you’ve connected to a far away server. Your ping will be much higher and the quality of gameplay will be worse.

Below, we have included a server location map that we have found from our testing. It’s worth noting that some servers on this map will be data centres. This is a collection of servers that are in and around the same location. Data centres will usually be located in areas of high population. This is so there is enough server space to account for more players.
We’ll continue to update this blog and server location map as time goes on. The best way to stay up to date with the server locations and status is using the Ping Heatmap feature of DumaOS.
